Roots RAM Series Blowers

The Roots Ram blower series is recognized as one of the most volumetrically efficient equipment options in the industry. These RAM Rotary Positive Blower units are designed as heavy-duty rotary blowers with integral-shaft ductile iron impellers featuring an involute profile. The headplates and rigid, one-piece casing are constructed of grey iron, while the drive end cover and gear cover are aluminum.

Piston ring seals reduce leakage through the shaft openings in the headplates, and lip-type oil seals prevent lubrication from entering the air chamber. A hydrodynamic seal on the drive shaft prevents shaft seal oil leaks. Carburized and ground alloy steel spur timing gears are taper-mounted on the shafts and secured with a locknut. Cylindrical roller bearings are used on all units.

Frame Sizes 404 thru 624

All frame sizes incorporate detachable rugged steel mounting feet for easy in-field adaptability to either vertical or horizontal installation requirements, with four drive shaft positions (top, bottom, right, or left). All standard units are center-timed to allow rotation in either direction.

RAM™ rotary blowers incorporate thrust control and splash oil lubrication at both ends of the blower, ensuring reliable performance in continuous-duty industrial applications.
